Areas of work

After qualification Alexa Beale worked in the litigation department handling dispute resolution, including civil court proceedings over a wide range of matters. Following the birth of her second child the focus of her work has shifted to more non-contentious areas of problem solving for clients, particularly landlord and tenant, both for residential and business premises, and investigation of other property problems such as boundary and right of way questions.

Areas covered include contracts and debt collection; landlord and tenant, both for residential and business premises; boundary disputes and other property problems; wills, probate and intestacy.

Alexa also advises on employment law, education (particularly for voluntary aided schools and independent schools with charitable status), and on diverse issues such as data protection, liquor licensing for members' clubs and health & safety.

Career

After graduating with a degree in Law from Oxford University, Alexa undertook her solicitor's training at Witham Weld. She remained with the firm after qualifying and, until she returned from work after maternity leave in 2000, she handled dispute resolution, including civil court proceedings on a wide range of matters. She became a partner in 1987.

Personal

Alexa is a governor of a voluntary aided secondary school for girls school in Wimbledon, where she was elected Chair of Govenors in November 2003, and is on their Personnel and Health & Safety sub-committees. She was also for 10 years a governor of an independent charitable school for girls in North Dorset. She is also a trustee of two charitable trusts.
